The shoes that everyone loves to hate: the crocs got a high fashion makeover for Balenciaga's 2018 spring showcase.

Demna Gvasalia sent crocs down the ramp with a 10 cm platform in bubblegum pink and sunshine yellow topped with kitschy pins of the Balenciaga logo, avacados, dogs, flowers, rainbows and stars. His inspiration being exaggerated everyday style and practicality.

"When Balenciaga approached us, we were intrigued by the opportunity to push the boundaries of our design and molding capabilities to see what we could create together. Working with Balenciaga has been so much fun for our team, and once again demonstrates the relevance of our iconic clog in today’s fashion and design world, as well as allowing us to tap into the excitement and energy that comes from unexpected partnerships.” - Michael Poole, Vice president at Crocs

“It’s a very innovative shoe. It’s light, it’s a one-piece foam mould and to me these kind of techniques and working with these kind of materials is very Balenciaga,” claims Demna to Vogue.

I predict this shoe makes a huge fashion statement. It
overpowers practicality, likes, dislikes and logic making it a must have on every fashionista's wish list, ensuring a long waitlist and replicas by high street brands.
