Mumbai holds my heart. In every way.

When it's time to visit my home city, excitement sets in. Of discovering new haunts and designers and rediscovering old ones, of learning of new crafts that a designer has now contemprarised or experimenting with a new pallatte of tastes that mordern India is aspiring towards.

Here's a list of my favourite boutiques in Mumbai, based on their curation, interriors and service. All the beautiful fashion pieces they house are extremely covetable.

Every boutique listed comes with food tip. This entails food joints which are a hop skip and jump away to each boutique. Guaranteed to prolong your shopping high!

This beautiful store with its vintage look and exquisitely embroidered pastel chikankari kaftans, tunics and stoles masters the casual chic look. Perfect for your summer travel to St.Tropez.

Gem Palace

Nestled in one of Mumbai's most iconic buildings Dhanraj Mahal, The Gem Palace in Mumbai captures the essence of its counterpart in Jaipur.

Irresistable jewellery, be it for a fun night out or a wedding; impeccable service and stunning interiors make it a memorable experience.

Food tip: Sumptious Desserts and coffee from Le Pain Quotidien next door.

Good Earth

Good Earth's apparel line Sustain, is handwoven with an indian design aesthetic. Simple and elegant it embodies cuts and colours that bring the country's richness and diversity alive. Love at first sight.

Food Tip: The Tasting Room at Good Earth. Make sure to book a table.

Good earth, Raghuvanshi Mills Compound, Lower Parel.

One of the most iconic fashion stores in Mumbai, Melange at the chic Altamont Road houses India's most promising designers. The new voices of fashion; Eka, Ikai and Antar Agni sit alongside established Indian designers Anuradha Vakil and Neeru Kumar. What I like most about this store is it's thoughtful curation of designers and their ethos towards fashion.

Food tip: The Sev Puri being sold right outside, its safe and hygienic and unbeatable.

Unmissable. Both.

Melange, 33 Altamount Road.

Le Mill

An eclectic mix of international and local labels coupled with an Indo-European interior  makes it a must visit. A private shopping salon lined with a Rajasthan inspired fresco, a tea bar and home decor area all reside together.

I loved the contemaprary take on Kolahpuris by Nimish Shah and the gorgeously curated Payal Pratap Singh's section.
