Walking down the streets of the old town in Barcelona was one of my favourite things to do when I visited this beautiful city known for its astoundingly stunning architecture. The small by lanes next to the Barcelona Cathedral known as its old town or gothic quarter, is filled with quaint cafes and boutiques retailing exquisitely crafted chcolates, handmade acccessories and the best hot chocolate ever, all made in Barcelona.
A few of my favourite cafes and boutiques:

Caelum
This beautiful cafe sells freshly baked cookies, cakes and cappuccinos all made by nuns.
One visit was not enough as my taste buds beckoned me there the very next day.

Be Chocolat

Handcrafted chocolates in every combination and form you can imagine. Quick name one and it will be there!

The Candy Kitchen
I'm in love with the beautiful store decor that transports me to the sets of Charlie and the Chocolate factory minus the oompha loompas. Candy made from fresh fruits and figs is definately a must try.

Dulcinea

A Spanish institution for hot chocolate and churrios, this cafe gives Angelina Paris a serious run for its money.

La Manual Alpagatera
An institution in espadrilles, this boutique is a must visit for it's beautifully crafted soles making it a must have in every fashionista's wishlist.
